WW1 Facts

1. WW1 began on July 28 1914 and started because of conflicts among European powers, and hostility, (regarding militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism) and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

2. The US got involved with WW1 because they intercepted the Zimmerman telegraph saying it would assist Mexico in reclaiming of Texas, California, New Mexico, and Arizona. Germany also fired arms at the Lusitania which caused outrage among America (ally ship).  Joined April 6, 1917.

3. Casualties (about 9 million)

4. WW1 ended 11 am Nov 11, 1908. Because the signing of the Versaille Treaty and the blockade of Germany and tremendous casualties
